With Mother’s Day only a week off, there’s no better time to share the secret of my new favorite coffee drink. Since I don’t make this drink with espresso, this is not really a latte, but it has the flavor of the pricey (and overly sweet) Cinnamon Dolce Latte. The only special equipment required is a milk frother, which is well worth the $13 investment–it paid for itself after only 3 uses. Mine sees daily use making fancy coffee drinks like this!
Surprise your mom with this fancy coffee drink as part of her Mother’s Day breakfast in bed.
Fancy Cinnamon Coffee
Makes 1 serving
2 oz half-and-half
6 oz strong coffee, medium- to dark-roast
1/2 tsp cinnamon sugar
1/4 tsp Demerara sugar
Brew coffee using your preferred method (I use an Aeropress and let the coffee steep 10 minutes).
In your coffee cup, heat half-and-half in the microwave (about 30 seconds).
Use your frothing tool in the hot milk until it’s doubled in size.
Add cinnamon sugar to milk and stir.
Pour in coffee.
Sprinkle on Demerara sugar.
